Issued at 236 PM CST Sun Dec 28 2025 Dynamic and exceptionally cold upper low over NE/IA will drop ESE as the sfc low over WI/MI continues to sit in place aiding in continued gusty northwest winds tonight and into at least Monday morning. The snow associated with the steep lapse rates and 800-600mb frontogenic forcing is finally coming to an end from west to east and should end all areas by 5 or 6pm. Lows tonight should be colder than guidance and along with expected winds have dropped both air temps and wind chills too given current conds across NE. Some cloudiness may drop back into northeast KS overnight but most spots should see clearing this evening through the night. Cold on Monday with highs below freezing but warming back up Tuesday and beyond with another polar high glancing the area Thursday but conds should remain dry in the WNW flow aloft.
